Search Flags

Use search flags to make your search even more powerful! Search flags add much more power to your search. To use a flag just add it to your search query. It just works. It's magic.

  • Flag format: flag:parameter. For flags that have multiple parameters, separate each parameter with , (a comma).
  • If a flag has an alias, you can use the alias if you want for convenience.
  • For boolean parameter types, use true, 1, on, or yes for true, or anything else for false.
  • We can literally add any flags you want as long as our database covers it, so let us know any other flags you'd like to see!

VGDB lets you search 3 types of entities: releases, games, and users. Each flag can apply to one or many of these entities. The entity that each flag applies to is listed on this page too.

Here's a list of the flags you can use:

Flag [alias] Parameter(s) Applies To Example Search
